Question by Ross: Is it wrong for my wife and I NOT to tell people that her huge engagement is not a real diamond?

My wife and I got married really young (19). We couldn’t afford a ceremony, so we went to the justice of the peace and I got her a simple, plain gold wedding band.

Now, we’re almost 27 and planning to get remarried in a real ceremony. I was going to buy her a real diamond, but she heard about moissanite diamonds and thought they were beautiful.

She was like, “Why buy me a tiny real diamond for a lot of money when you could buy me a big Moissanite for half the price?”

So I bought her a 0 1Ct Moissanite.

People keep complimenting her on it saying its’ so sparkly, big and beautiful and my boys are giving me huge props. They’re all like, “Man you’re making us look bad.”
